Thank you very much for your interest in our website, www.sickcity.com (hereinafter the "Website") and our Game Sick City (hereinafter “Game”). This Website is operated by Roccat Games Studio GmbH, Otto von Bahrenpark, Paul-Dessau-Str. 3 g, 22761 Hamburg (hereinafter "Roccat" or ‘we’/’us’). It offers you as the user (hereinafter referred to as ‘User’ or ‘you’) the opportunity to get an idea of our game, to download the Game, make requests, register to receive materials and participate in our Forum.

Your privacy is important to us. In what follows, we will provide you with information about how we use your personal data when you visit our Website and which rights you have with respect to our use of your personal data. Any consent you grant may be withdrawn at any time with future effect. To make this privacy policy easy to find, we make it available in the footer of the Website and at every point where personally identifiable information may be requested.

    • Any User is free to visit our Website without having to register.
    • Every time a User visits the Website or opens a file the following data will be stored in a log file: Internet protocol, IP address, page from which the file was accessed, date, time, browser type and operating system, the pages visited by the User, volume of data transferred, access status (file transmitted, file not found, etc.).
    • Apart from that Roccat only collects and uses personal data the User discloses during visits to the Website, for instance when registering as User, downloading and/or playing the Game or making an enquiry. The User’s personal data are collected, used and stored for the purpose of executing the contract. Personal data are information which contain details of your personal or material circumstances, such as your name, address, e-mail address and date of birth.
    • The types of personal information collected for registration as a User are user name, email address, IP address. For downloading the Game the following information are required and stored user name, email address, IP address. In addition any profile information which the User entered while visiting our Website or playing the Game is collected and stored, such as for instance when the Game is started and finished and the result (victory/defeat/draw), the battlefield map of the Game, the Game mode and the team size.

If this is done via third-party service providers such as credit card companies or banks, your legitimate concerns will be protected in compliance with prevailing legal provisions. The data may also be disclosed if necessary to protect other users or if its disclosure is required by law.
    • In case a registered User enters information or statements in the Forum (‘Forum’), he knows and agrees that these statements and information are published within the public Forum of Sick City.
    • Furthermore, contractual and utilization data are collected, processed and used by Roccat pursuant to Sections 14 & 15 of the German Telemedia Act (Telemediengesetz - TMG) and Section 28 of the German Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz - BDSG).
    • Google Analytics

      Our Website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google, Inc. (hereinafter "Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies," i.e., text files that are installed in your terminal device and allow an analysis of your use of the Website. Generally, information generated by cookies about your use of this Website will be transferred to and stored in a server of Google in the United States. On this Website the code "gat_anonymizeIp()" was added to Google Analytics to guarantee anonymous collection of IP addresses. As a result, your IP address will be shortened within member countries of the European Union or other countries that are signatories of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transmitted to a server of Google in the United States. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a server of Google in the United States and then shortened there.

    • In order to offer our Game to you we will have to make a transfer of data and information of the Game from your display device to our Roccat servers. You will be informed at the beginning of using the Game about the necessity of the data transfer in order to play the Game and will be asked for your consent. You may revoke the consent to use the information/data for the Game at any time with future effect (by contacting us at the address set forth in Section 8 below).

  • Your consent in receiving our e-mail newsletter
    • If the User subscribes to our newsletter, the e-mail address will be used for advertising purposes until the User unsubscribes from the newsletter. If applicable, the User has provided us with the express consent shown below and we have documented the consent. Under German Law we are required to hold the terms of consent available for access at any time. The User’s e-mail address will not be disclosed to any third parties, and the User may revoke the consent to our use of the e-mail address for sending the newsletter for advertising purposes at any time with future effect (by contacting us at the address set forth in Section 8 below).

    • Roccat uses text files known as cookies or image files known as web beacons, each of which are stored on the User’s display device. Both these technologies assist in gathering data on User-specific settings, as well as technical information which allows the User to be identified. This information shows when and how Users employ the Website and allow us to continually improve it. The use of cookies offers Users the benefit of not having to re-enter their personal data every time they fill in forms on the Website. Using cookies is normal practice on many websites.
